Healthcare workers are in great demand right now.
It is highly recommended to run a thorough background check on healthcare employees. Doing so protects the people your healthcare workers interact with, other employees, and YOU, because companies who hire fraudulent employees may have to pay penalties to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. Legal Locator Service looks for license revocations, suspensions, disciplinary actions, terminations and exclusions. We check with the Office of the Inspector General of the Department of HHS, which has a national database of people who are excluded from working for Social Security Administration programs – such as Medicare, Medicaid and State Children’s Health Insurance programs and other state programs. However, there is no national database for healthcare workers who have had license revocations or disciplinary actions for other issues from state boards. This is why we investigate resumes and track candidates’ histories. We verify former places of employment and look for red flags.
